MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State football has bolstered its future with the addition of 14 athletes who have completed enrollment requirements to the University during the December signing period.
 
The Eagles have added seven on the defensive side of the ball, six offensive players and one special teams kicker.
 
The group combined for a 3.46 grade point average in high school, and there are 10 team captains among the flock. There are also 10 dual-sport athletes.

Michael Chavez (5-11, 185, Defensive Back, Sacramento, Calif., Folsom HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Paul Doherty at Folsom … Ranked 25^th in the state in total tackles as a junior and second among juniors in the section … Also grabbed five passes for 130 yards … Played quarterback as a sophomore and connected for four touchdowns while ranking the 4^th best QB in Northern California … Led Folsom to three straight league titles.
 
Dylan Cook (6-2, 205, Defensive Back/Viper, Tucson, Ariz., Ironwood Ridge HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach James Hardy Jr., at Ironwood Ridge … As a junior totaled five interceptions and seven pass deflections while recording more than 50 tackles … Had four interceptions and more than 70 tackles … Also picked off seven passes as a freshman and scored 12 total touchdowns while leading team to one of only three undefeated seasons in the team's history … Named First-Team All-Southern Arizona … Father Jason played quarterback at Eastern Illinois … Brother plays football and runs track at Colorado State.
 
Chaz Geraghty (6-3, 220, Tight End, Louisville, Ky., Holy Cross HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Eric Dick at Holy Cross … Played QB at Holy Cross where he threw for 1,1196 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior … Also added 1,026 rushing yards and 19 TDs on the ground … Passed for 1,182 yards and 10 scores through the air as a junior and rushed for 890 yards … On defense, piled up 81 tackles his final two seasons … Led HCHS to a regional title as a junior … Was named all-district as a senior and all-district as a linebacker as a sophomore.

Chance Harris (5-11, 180, Running back, North Tazewell, Va., Tazewell HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Jamie Harris at Tazewell … Rushed for 472 yards and seven scores on the ground as a junior … Erupted for 1,146 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore and piled in 794 yards and nine TDs as a freshman … Named First-Team All-District and First-Team All-Region as a sophomore … Earned Second-Team All-District as a junior and First-Team All-District as a freshman.

Braeden Haynes (6-0, 168, Kicker, Ooltewah, Tenn., Ooltewah HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Scott Chandler at Ooltewah … Was successful on 13 career field goals and 121 extra-point kicks … Also averaged 35.3 yards on punts as a senior … Was named First-Team All-Region 2 for 6A in Tennessee as a senior … Helped guide Ooltewah to the state playoffs twice.
 
Andrew Johnson (6-3, 200, Quarterback, Aliso Viejo, Calif., Laguna Beach HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach John Selbe at Laguna Beach … Set the school career record with 5,591 passing yards and 71 touchdowns, all accomplished in just two seasons as a junior and senior … Also set school records for TD passes in a game (7), most yards in a game (418), career completions (238), most completions in a game (30), most TD passes in a season (42) and most yards in a season (3,246) … Named Pac 4 Offensive Player of the Year and to the Orange County Top 150 Players to Watch list as a senior … Named First-Team Pac 4 League and All-CIF as a junior … Off the field, was also the CIF champion for Division 4 in tennis as a sophomore and was all-league player two times in tennis .. Father Erik played football at Minnesota-Morris.
 
Garrick Krautz (6-3, 235, Tight End, Tucson, Ariz., Catalina Foothills HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Darius Kelly at CFHS … Registered 129 yards and a touchdown as a senior and had 320 yards and two scores in the passing game as a junior … Was named all-state as a junior … His father, Marko, played at Morehead State in 1978 as an offensive lineman
 
Xaylyn McKinnie (6-0, 160, Defensive Back, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Riverdale HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Will Kriesky at RHS … Had 55 total tackles his final two seasons and 10 pass breakups … Also added 285 yards receiving as well as two touchdowns on offense as a senior … As a junior, he had six interceptions to go along with 253 receiving yards … Scored four touchdowns on passes as a freshman … Named 6A All-Region as a junior and senior.
 
Clay Odom (6-3, 276, Offensive Line, Gainesville, Fla., Greeneville [Tenn.] HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Eddie Spradlen at Greenville High School … Piled up 49 pin blocks as a senior while helping running backs average more than 10 yards per carry … As a sophomore had 27 tackles and four sacks … Helped GHS win the conference, district, regional and state titles as a freshman and sophomore … Named all-state, all-conference and all-county as a senior … Father played football at Florida and for the Orlando Predators of the AFL and is the head coach at Tusculum (Tenn.).
 
Christian Orth (6-4, 240, Defensive Line, Jupiter, Fla., Jupiter HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Tim Tharp at JHS … Averaged 41 yards per catch as a senior … As a junior totaled 48 tackles, including seven in the backfield and three sacks … Helped team go undefeated in the regular season and win the district as a senior … Was named to the ESPN Top 63 as a senior … Tabbed 8A All-Conference.
 
Connor Smith (6-1, 225, Linebacker, Lexington, Ky., Dunbar HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Wes Johnson at Dunbar … Had 136 career tackles, just in his final two seasons .., Totaled 21 tackles for loss as a junior and senior … As a junior, piled up 86 tackles and had 11 behind the line of scrimmage … Also had two interceptions … Notched 50 tackles as a senior and had five sacks … Helped his team to a district and regional title as a senior … Named all-city as a junior.
 
Gabe Smith (6-3, 230, Linebacker, Somers, N.Y. IMG Academy) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Kyle Brey at IMG Academy ... Helped his team go undefeated at 8-0 and rank number one in the state … Had 40 tackles, plus three sacks as a sophomore … Totaled 30 tackles as a freshman … Was the Coaches' Player of the Year … Team was also NYCHSFL AAA champions. … Had 50 tackles his senior high school season, along with 10 sacks.

Hunter Urbanski (6-2, 230, Tight End, Aldie, Va., John Champe HS) - HIGHLIGHT VIDEO
Played for head coach Jason Dawson and alongside fellow Eagle newcomer Charlie Watkins at JCHS … Had more than 100 career receiving yards … Scored a touchdown on 53 yards as a senior … Helped team advance to 6A playoffs as a junior .. Joins teammate Charlie Watkins from JCHS.

Played for head coach Jason Dawson at JCHS … Was the team captain as a senior … Helped lead his team to the 6A playoffs as a sophomore and junior … Played varsity football and basketball since sophomore year and took part in Virginia regional basketball championships in 2019 … His brother played basketball at Mississippi.
