SCHEDULE
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State football will have a chance to compete for a conference championship after all this season as the Pioneer Football League announced a six-game conference schedule this week, beginning in mid-March. The Eagles will also open the spring season with a non-conference game at James Madison on Feb. 20.
The JMU contest, previously released by the Dukes, will kick off the campaign at Noon ET on Saturday, Feb. 20. The remainder of the schedule commences March 13 and will continue for the next five Saturdays with PFL contests. Each team will play three home and three road games. Game times and other information, including tickets and safety protocols, will be released when they are finalized.
The Eagles' PFL ledger opens on March 13 at Butler. MSU then is slated to host its first home game on March 20 when Stetson visits.
The next contest is March 27 at Davidson, followed by a home battle with Valparaiso on April 3. MSU will make the short trek to Dayton on April 10 before wrapping up the regular season schedule on April 17 against the newest PFL member, Presbyterian. The Eagles and Blue Hose have never met on the gridiron in their program histories.
In September, the NCAA Board of Directors approved plans for NCAA Division I fall championships to be played in the spring as outlined by the Division I Council. The Division I Football Championship will feature 16 teams, with the bracket announced Sunday, April 18, and the championship game to be played May 14, 15, or 16 in Frisco, Texas. The spring 2021 field includes automatic bids from 11 FCS conferences, including the PFL, and five at-large selections.

The PFL Presidents Council fully recognizes this is an aspirational plan given the current severe state of the coronavirus pandemic and the many unknowns in the coming months for the country, the diverse group of states in which our schools exist, and the individual PFL institutions themselves. Consequently, at their sole discretion, individual institutions may choose to opt-out of the PFL 2021 spring season at any time.
