Women's Basketball to Honor Avery, Humphries, and Jackson Saturday as Team Meets TSU
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team will honor senior members Breuna Jackson, Jaleesa Avery, and Orlandra Humphries on Saturday as it matches up with Ohio Valley Conference foe Tennessee State at Johnson Arena.
 
The Eagles will hold a special ceremony for the trio 10 minutes prior to their 1:00 p.m. ET tipoff at Johnson Arena.

THE SENIORS
 
BREUNA JACKSON
 
A 5-foot-5 guard from Nashville, Tennessee, Jackson has been a key member during what has been the most successful period in Morehead State Women's Basketball history. Jackson played in 89 games (two starts) and contributed valuable minutes during the Eagles three-straight 21-plus win campaigns and two WNIT bids. This season, Jackson has turned in career-high numbers in every statistical category, averaging 10.7 points, 1.8 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game while playing 31.1 minutes per game. Jackson has been one of the top free throw shooters this season, shooting 90.5% on 67-74 attempts.

JALEESA AVERY
 
Avery joined Morehead State in 2018 after playing two years at Western Nebraska. Last season, the 6-foot-1 forward started in nine games but played in all 35 games during the teams 24-11 season the culminated with the program's second trip to the WNIT. During her senior season, Avery has started in all 27 games and averages 6.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game.

ORLANDRA "LALA" HUMPHRIES
 
Like Avery, Humphries also took the junior college route before coming to Morehead State. The Chicago native transferred to MSU in 2018 and played in 29 game during the teams 24-11 WNIT campaign. During that season Humphries continually improved and has done so this to become one of the OVC's top rebounders, ranking sixth in OVC play with 8.5 rebounds per game. The six-foot Humphries have five times exceeded double-figures in rebounds and grabbed a career-best 19 boards while also scoring 12 points in a game at Belmont on Jan. 18, 2020.

LAST MEETING
 
Morehead State defeated Tennessee State 84-47 on Jan. 16 at the Gentry Center in Nashville, Tenn. The 37-point victory, which is the largest against the Lady Tigers in program history, was made possible after Morehead State opened the game with a 19-3 run. The team never looked back, leading by as many as 44 points in the game. The Eagles knocked down 27-of-61 (.441) field goal attempts, their best shooting clip on the road during the season. Freshman guard Tomiyah Alford led MSU in scoring with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting. The 5-foot-10 rookie also grabbed seven rebounds and led the team with four steals.
