Jason Goe Tabbed to Preseason All-OVC Baseball List; Eagles Draw First Place Consideration
OVC RELEASE

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State senior pitcher Jason Goe has been selected a member of the official Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference baseball squad, as voted on by the league's coaching staffs and media relations personnel.

While the Eagles were tabbed for a fifth place showing in the preseason pick of teams, MSU did garner a first-place vote.

Goe, a fifth-year right-hander from Dry Ridge, Ky., helped propel the 2019 team to unprecedented success with 40 wins. Goe himself fashioned a 7-2 record in 12 starting assignments and 15 appearances.

He was a part of two shutout wins and totaled 65 strikeouts in 68.1 innings. Owning one of the best strikeout-to-walk ratios in the league, he only issued 11 free passes on four-ball counts. Opponents hit only .276 against him.

On March 31 at UT Martin last year, Goe fired eight innings allowing only one run with a career-best 13 strikeouts. He also collected a complete-game, 11-strikeout win over Murray State in the OVC Tournament - a game won on a walk-off home run in the ninth inning.

Goe had missed nearly all of the previous two seasons with recurring injuries.

Morehead State and new head coach Mik Aoki open the 2020 campaign on Feb. 14-16 with a four-game set against Michigan State at Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
