Throwback Thursday: Bell and Rich Both Set Track Records on Same Weekend
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The weekend of April 16-17, 2016 was a special one for Morehead State track alums Desmond Bell and Dylan Rich.

Under the sunshine of the California sky that weekend, Bell and Rich both set school records. Bell established the 800-meter school standard, while Rich raced to history in the 1,500-meter run.

A senior that season, Bell had tried for four years to etch his name onto the record book. He finally did it on April 16, running the Beach Invitational's 800-meter event in 1:49.57.

Rich, a junior, set the school mark in the 1,500-meters by running it in 3:48.40 at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Asuza Pacific.

Bell went on to wrap up his collegiate career that year at the NCAA East Regional in the 800 meters. Rich's record has since been broken again, but for that day, and at least two more years, he was king of the 1,500-meter races at Morehead State.
