Four Eagles Earn College of Business and Technology Outstanding Student Awards
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology honored student achievement by announcing the winners of its annual academic awards, and four of the honorees are athletic department representatives.

One graduating student from each major in the School of Business Administration and the School of Engineering and Computer Science is recognized each school year for outstanding academic achievement. 

Baseball left-handed pitcher Cory Conway is the Outstanding Sport Management Student, while Rifle senior Karly Potts was named Outstanding Management Student. Volleyball's Olivia Lohmeier is the top student in Computer Information Systems, and Sports Medicine second-year Graduate Assistant Alexis Smith is the Outstanding Student for a Master's of Arts in Sport Management.

Conway, a native of Noblesville, Ind., is a redshirt junior for the Baseball Eagles. He owns a 3.61 cumulative grade point average. A reliever his first two full seasons in 2018 and 2019 Conway made the move to weekend starter to begin the shortened 2020 season. He owns seven career saves and 10 career wins on the mound.

Potts, from Ephrata, Pa., was a four-time Scholastic All-American from the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association. During her senior season in 2019-20 she helped the Eagles capture the program's first-ever Ohio Valley Conference title. An honor student, she has earned a .397 cumulative GPA through the Fall 2019 semester.

Lohmeier, who was the 2018 OVC Offensive Player of the Year for indoor, already has more than 1,200 career kills to her credit with her senior campaign remaining. She was named First-Team All-OVC in 2018 and 2019 and was named All-American and All-Region in 2019. Lohmeier also plays on the Beach Volleyball team. She has a 3.93 grade point average.

Smith, who came to MSU after her earning undergraduate degree at Purdue, is from Williamsport, Ind. She has primarily covered the Eagle volleyball and softball teams her two seasons on campus.
