Three Programs Garner NCAA APR Public Recognition Honors
MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Morehead State volleyball, beach volleyball and rifle programs have been publicly recognized again by the National Collegiate Athletic Association for earning a multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top 10 percent of all squads.

It marks the volleyball program's ninth straight APR public honor. Beach volleyball has also earned the APR recognition for a second consecutive year. Rifle earned its third APR honor overall and first since 2009-10.

Each year, the NCAA honors selected Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multiyear NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate. The honors for this year include the previous four years leading up to 2018-19. This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

Volleyball had 11 student-athletes honored on the 2018-19 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for having at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average. Rifle had nine, which was the entire roster.
