#ThrowbackThursday: Chynna Bozeman was a Dominant Force for Eagle Women's Basketball
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Two-time Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year. All-time leading scorer. Three-point specialist. All words to describe Morehead State women's basketball alum Chynna Bozeman.

This week we take a look back at a student-athlete so accomplished she is just one of two women's basketball players in MSU program history to have their jersey retired, joining Donna Murphy.

Hailing from Reynoldsburg, Ohio and a product of Africentric High School, Bozeman quickly made a name for herself, being named OVC Freshman of the Week four times in 2007-08. She also was named Second-Team All-OVC and to the OVC All-Newcomer team, averaging 12.3 points per game and leading the team in steals and assists.

That was just the tip of the iceberg as Bozeman's performances only grew more epic as time went on.

By her sophomore season in 2008-09, Bozeman was recognized as one of the league's elite being named First-Team All-OVC. Her ability to shoot (and hit) three-pointers became clearly evident as she tied the program record for triples in a season with 95.

Fast forward another year to her junior campaign in 2009-10. Bozeman again set the Morehead State and OVC single-season records for three pointers made (121) and attempted (344). Her 121 three-pointers ranked as the fourth best single season total in NCAA Division I history at the time.

Jumping ahead to her final collegiate season in 2010-11, Bozeman led the OVC with 21.4 points per game and drilled another 104 three-pointers. She won her second straight OVC Player of the Year honor and was named to the first-team, becoming one of very few in history to earn three consecutive first-team accolades. She also helped the Eagles to a 21-win season.

To this day, Bozeman's 344 career three-pointers made is the MSU record, and she ranks in the top 20 all-time in all NCAA Divisions in three-pointers attempted (1,096) and made. Bozeman's 2,170 points is the most of any player in Eagle history, one of only two to eclipse 2,000 with the other the aforementioned Murphy.

But it wasn't just scoring in live action. Bozeman was a complete player.

She still ranks tied for first in program history in career steals (251), third in free throws made (381) and ninth in assists (394).

On her senior night On Feb. 12, 2011, she (along with men's basketball legend Kenneth Faried) saw their jerseys go up in the rafters forever at Johnson Arena.

Bozeman stayed close to the game she loves, coaching in the high school and youth ranks. Today she resides in Portsmouth, Ohio.
