Cross Country Teams Set to Open Season Against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Cross Country begins its long-awaited season this Saturday with a head-to-head contest against OVC-rival Eastern Kentucky.

The matchup will be held in Richmond, Ky. at the University Club at Arlington with the men's 6k set for 12:00 p.m., followed by the women's 4k at 12:30 p.m.

Due to the postponed season, the Eagles have not competed in an event since the NCAA Southeast Region Championships on November 15, 2019.

On the men's side for Morehead State, the roster will once again be a youthful squad featuring seven freshmen and six sophomores. The team is led by its three seniors, Cole Ralenkotter, Darby Pillow, and Josh Grogan.

The women's roster shows more balance between classes with three seniors, two juniors, two sophomores, and three freshmen. Seniors Maggie Kiper, Olivia Chapman, and Madison Pelfrey will look to use their experience to help lead the squad.

After this contest, the Eagles will compete in the Murray State Open on February 5th before heading to Tennessee Tech to run in the Golden Eagle Invitational on February 19th.
