MOREHEAD, Ky. – This is a new series leading up to the beginning of the coming sports seasons that allows our fans to get to know our student-athletes. A different player will be featured in a story on their responses to a questionnaire given to all of our teams.
This edition is on women's track & field redshirt senior Maya Andrews.
Why did you choose to come to Morehead State?
Andrews: I came to MSU to be able to run track and still be in the nursing program.
What is your favorite memory playing your sport?
Andrews: My favorite memory while at MSU is when all of us ran well at Charlotte. The whole team ran their personal bests and it was so much fun to see everyone do well.
What is your favorite song and which artist sings it?
Andrews: Changes by DeJ Loaf. My favorite artist is Jhené Aiko.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show and why did you choose that movie?
Andrews: My favorite movie is The Lion King and my favorite show is The Office.
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at and what is your go-to meal there?
Andrews: My favorite restaurant is Olive Garden and my go-to meal is the Chicken Alfredo.
If you could have one superpower, what would that be and why?
Andrews: I would want to be able to fly so that I don't have to walk.
Who is your favorite professional athlete and what makes them your favorite?
Andrews: My favorite professional athlete is Allyson Felix. She is such an inspiration as a female athlete and is one of the most decorated athletes in track and field.
What is your favorite spot to go to on campus or in town/region?
Andrews: My favorite place in town is Fuzzy Duck.
If you could time travel to any year/time period, what would you choose and why?
Andrews: I would time travel to the 80s/90s because of the fashion styles.
