MOREHEAD, Ky. – Coming off another split week, the Soccer Eagles turn to a pair of crucial OVC matchups as they compete for a top spot in the upcoming conference tournament.
Last week, the Eagles continued their stellar home record by defeating Austin Peay on the back of the first career goal from
Jenna Setters, and a fourth shutout from
Michelle Jerantowski. Morehead State then turned in a strong effort on the road at Murray State, but ultimately fell in heartbreaking fashion in the 88th minute.
Currently, the Eagles sit in fourth place in the OVC standings with seven points. With the top four teams hosting matches during the OVC tournament, this week's slate of games become even more important for the Eagles.
"We are coming into the final stretch of conference play. Every game is important. We need to be ready, disciplined, and organized to be successful," head coach
Warren Lipka added.
In front of them is a Belmont team who is placed third in the conference and has one of the toughest home venues in the OVC, posting a 5-1 record at E.S. Rose Park this season.
Then the Eagles will return to MSU Recreation & Wellness Field for a homecoming matchup against SEMO Sunday, who is coming off their first OVC victory of the season.
Both matchups will be streamed on ESPN+.
