MOREHEAD, Ky. – Before heading into tournament play, the Eagles will take the field for the final time this fall Sunday against UT Martin.
Morehead State currently sits in 6th place in the OVC standings, but the conference being so tightly contested, a win over the top ranked Skyhawks could potentially vault the Eagles into the top four.
The Eagles scratched out a point last week, battling SEMO to a scoreless draw after falling at Belmont earlier in the week. The draw marked another impressive home performance, which has seen the Eagles go 4-1-2 at MSU Recreation & Wellness Field, and was another standout performance from the defense, who held the Redhawks to only two shots in 110 minutes. Morehead State has now recorded three consecutive home shutouts, and has only surrendered three goals at home this season.
The stout defense, alongside junior goalkeeper
Michelle Jerantowski, will certainly be tested by UT Martin, who sit atop the OVC standings and bring the second ranked offense in the conference in terms of goals scored.Â
Sunday's match also marks senior day for
Caitlyn Burdine,
Katie Kiolbassa, and
Colleen Swift, as the three Eagles say farewell to Morehead State. The trio have led the team offensively, combining for 32 shots on goal and five goals in 2021. A ceremony honoring the three seniors will be held prior to game time.
The match is set to kick off at 2 pm ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.

NOTABLE
- Michelle Jerantowski is tied for 1st in the league in shutouts (5) and 2nd in the league in saves (66). She is also tied for 4th all-time in career shutouts at Morehead State, and her 1.19 goals against average would be the 5th best in school history for a season.
- Jerantowski's only shutout previous to this season was against UT Martin in their last matchup in March.
- The Eagles have recorded three consecutive home shutouts for the first time since 2018. The last time Morehead State had four straight home shutouts was 2006, as part of a school record 795 minute scoreless streak.
- A win would give the Eagles their best home record since 2014, when they went 7-1-0 at Jayne Stadium.
