MOREHEAD, Ky. – Summer Ward, a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, is the first signee for the Morehead State women's soccer program this year.

Summer comes to the Eagles after a successful career at Norwood High School, both on the soccer field and in the classroom. Ward was a three-time National Honor Society All-Academic Selection.

The forward, who doubles as an attacking midfielder, netted 30 goals in 14 games at Norwood, giving her a school record and propelling her to be named to the 2021 All-Star Game. Ward was also named to the First Team All MVC Conference twice and was the MVC Player of the Year.

Ward plans on majoring in secondary education.
