MOREHEAD, KY. – After an extended road trip, Morehead State finally returns to the friendly confines of Johnson Arena, as they open a five-game homestand, beginning with in-state rival Eastern Kentucky. This will be the first matchup between the two programs since EKU's move to ASUN earlier this year.
The Eagles are coming off of a defeat at Evansville that did see some positives for the team, including outscoring the Purple Aces in the third quarter, a career-high in rebounds from
Janay Rose in her first ever start, and double-figure scoring from
Terri Smith and
Alana Denson.
EKU, now being led by former Morehead State head coach Greg Todd, has dropped three of their last four games, most recently falling at Miami (OH) 80-62. The Colonels are led by redshirt senior Jayla Johnson who is averaging 15.4 points per game.
Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m. ET and can be found on ESPN+ or listened to on the Eagle Sports Radio Network.
