MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After collecting her first two career double-doubles, Morehead State women's baskeball's Jada Claude has been named the Ohio Valley Conference  Newcomer of the Week. This is the first such honor for Claude and the Eagles team. 

Claude opened her week with an eight point effort against in-state rival EKU. She went on to have a career night against USC Upstate, where she poured in a career high 21 points, pulled down a career high 18 rebounds, and added a pair of steals. Claude then recorded her second double-double in as many days when she went for 16 points and 10 rebounds against Valparaiso. 

Claude now leads the team in double-doubles, and is also leading the team in rebounds per game with 7.2. She is also one of the most efficient shooters on the team, currently making 42% of her shots, including connecting on 59% of her shots from the floor this past week. 

The Eagles begin conference play on Dec. 29 against Eastern Illinois.
