MOREHEAD, Ky. – Women's hoops opens their OVC slate against the Panthers of Eastern Illinois on Wednesday.

The Eagles are coming off a 1-9 non-conference schedule that saw them take on a mix of power five opponents such as Michigan State and Baylor, as well as rivals Marshall and Eastern Kentucky.

Morehead State boasts the reigning OVC Newcomer of the Week in Jada Claude, who has posted consecutive double-doubles against USC Upstate and Valparaiso. The sophomore transfer has averaged 15 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game over the past week.

Eastern Illinois comes into conference play with a 5-6 record, having dropped six of their final seven non-conference matchups. The Panthers are led by junior Lariah Washington, who is averaging 14 points per game and senior Abby Wahl, who is scoring 12.3 points per game and is the leading rebounder for Eastern Illinois at 5.7 boards per game.
