MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The last action against another opponent for Morehead State football was Nov. 23, 2019. That anticipation and wait to line up again will finally come to fruition Saturday as the Eagles open the delayed 2020 season at James Madison.

The game will mark the only non-conference contest for the Eagles, with six Pioneer League games on the slate starting on March 13. Head coach Rob Tenyer will lead the Eagles into their 91st season of collegiate football and his eighth as the head coach. MSU finished the 2019 campaign 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the PFL but returns a core group, plus a ton of newcomers to the roster.

James Madison has become a perennial power in the Football Championship Subdivision and appeared in the 2019 national championship game, falling to North Dakota State. Curt Cignetti led the Dukes to a 14-2 record.

Morehead State last played at JMU in 2016, but the teams also have a contract to meet again this fall on Sept. 4 and again in 2023.

The game will air live on MSUEagles.com (WIVY-96.3 FM audio). Live video is available for a fee on FloSports.com.
