MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Cross Country returns to action Friday in the Murray State Open. The event is set to take place at the Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky.

The women's 5k is set for 3:00 p.m. ET while the men's 8k is slated for 3:45 p.m. ET. Along with Murray State, the Eagles will run against OVC foes Jacksonville State and SIUE. Other competing teams include Campbellsville, Evansville, and North Alabama.

Morehead State last competed on January 23rd in a matchup at Eastern Kentucky where the women saw three runners finish in the top five in the 4k, highlighted by a 15:41.00 finish from Mary Alice Thornburg. The men's side saw three runners finish in the top 10 with Kyle Embry completing the 6k with an MSU-best 19:31.00.

The Cross Country Eagles were next scheduled to run in the Golden Eagle Invitational on February 19th. This event, however, has been replaced by an appearance by the track and field teams in the Kentucky Collegiate Indoor Invitational on the 20th. The meet, hosted by the KTCCCA, will take place in the brand new Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
