For the Second Consecutive Week, Women's Basketball's Gabby Crawford Named OVC Newcomer of the Week
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After posting a career-best 19 points versus Tennessee State and adding a game-high 15 against Belmont, Morehead State women's basketball's Gabby Crawford earned her second consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honor.

The honor marks the fourth of the season for the Munford, Tenn. native, having also garnered the award for the weeks of Dec. 1, Jan. 12, and Feb. 23. Her four total honors this season are the most amongst the conference's newcomers.

Crawford opened the week with her second 19-point outing in as many games versus Tennessee State, tying a career-high off the strength of a career-best nine made field goals, shooting 9-of-14 from the floor (.643) while adding nine rebounds. Her career highs didn't just stop offensively against the Lady Tigers as she also swiped a career-high three steals defensively.

In two career games with Tennessee State, Crawford averages 19 points and 9.5 boards, setting career-highs in points (19), field goals made (nine), free throws made (nine), and steals (three).

Against Belmont, Crawford poured in a game-high 15 points, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor, including 1-of-1 from long range, and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. She added career-highs in both assists and steals with three apiece while also corralling six boards.

Crawford concludes her first season in an Eagle uniform as the team's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 12.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Posting eight double-doubles, she ends the regular season ranked second in the OVC in the category.
