Softball Continues Conference Schedule With Road Series at Austin Peay
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Softball is set for its first OVC road series in nearly 700 days as it travels to Clarksville, Tenn., to take on Austin Peay. After dropping three games versus Eastern Illinois last weekend, the Eagles are still on the hunt for their first conference win of the season.

MSU's last OVC victory came on May 5, 2019 against Tennessee State in the final game of head coach Samantha Jones' first season as the leader of the program. Due to the cancellation of the remaining portion of last year's schedule, the Eagles were not able to compete in any conference games in 2020.

The highlight for this season's Eagles squad is its offense. MSU ranks in the top five in the OVC in runs scored, RBI, and runs per game. Morehead State is also second in the conference with 28 stolen bases as well as ninth in the NCAA with 2.8 stolen bases per game.

"Our team is anticipating another opportunity to compete against a high level program," said Jones. "They have been working hard and focusing on getting stronger with their strengths. This team is resilient! Their determination to improve daily shows with their intentionality to each play whether we are on offense or defense."
