Volleyball's Bridget Bessler Bestowed Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week Honors
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After leading Morehead State volleyball to a pair of straight-set victories, including the program's 1,000th win, sophomore setter Bridget Bessler has been bestowed Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week accolades.

The award marks her second OVC Setter of the Week honors this season and the fifth of her career while also marking her seventh overall conference weekly award.

In two matches versus Belmont, Bessler passed out 79 total assists, averaging 13.1 helpers per set—a total that led all league setters last weekend. She also orchestrated Morehead State to a .267 team hitting percentage and a pair of sweeps.

She opened the Belmont series with 41 assists over three sets in match one, surpassing 40 assists in a three-set match for the fourth time in her career and first time this season. She'd also tally nine digs as she neared her team-leading fourth double-double of the year while also tying a career-high with a pair of blocks.

In match two, she tacked on 38 more assists to her total while chipping in five digs and adding another block. In the match she helped the Eagles to a .318 team hitting efficiency, helping sophomore right-side hitter Abby Hulsman post her second career match hitting .700 or better (.700; 8-1-10)—the 20th match with an attacker hitting .700 or greater (min. 10 swings) in program history.

In addition to her 79 assists, Bessler added 14 digs, three total blocks, and one service aces in the series sweep of Belmont.

She enters the week ranked 12th in the NCAA in assists per set, averaging 11.30 helpers per set while her 452 total assists lead the OVC.

Bessler and Morehead State return to action this weekend, facing in-state rival Eastern Kentucky in a two-game series in Richmond, Ky. First serve of Sunday's match is 4 p.m. ET with Monday's first serve at 6 p.m.
