MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a pair of dominant performances in its midweek doubleheader against Kentucky State, Morehead State Softball is back in action with a series against OVC rival Tennessee Tech. The Eagles are searching for their first conference win of the year as they host the team from Cookeville, Tenn.
Morehead State will host TTU for a Sunday doubleheader set for a 1 pm ET start before the single-game series finale on Monday that will also begin at 1 pm ET.
MSU ranks in the top half of the conference in several statistical categories including batting average, on-base percentage, hits, and RBI. The Eagles excel on the basepaths to the tune of 40 stolen bases in its first 15 games to lead the OVC and place seventh in the country in stolen bases per game.
"After coming off two good wins this past Wednesday, the team is looking forward to playing Tennessee Tech at home," said head coach
Samantha Jones. "Tennessee Tech is historically a good team and has always been in the top tier of the conference. We expect nothing less than three competitive games."

Kirya Kingery has reached base safely by hit, walk, or HBP in 11 straight games. Her on-base streak (when including fielding errors) is 16 games dating back to the final game of the 2020 season.

Alexis Strother is currently eighth in the conference in batting average, hitting .381 on the season. She also ranks fourth in the OVC with a .480 OBP and is tied for 10th with 12 RBI.
• The Eagles are dangerous on the base paths as they lead the OVC with 40 stolen bases on 44 attempts. MSU also ranks seventh in the NCAA with 2.67 stolen bases/game.
• Sophomore
Kirya Kingery is the catalyst for the speedy Eagles as she leads the OVC with 15 stolen bases. She also averages 1.00 stolen bases per game, tied for highest in the NCAA.

Lennon Spicer is tied for third in the OVC with four wins on the year. She is also ranked in the top 15 in the conference in innings pitched (7th, 47.1), appearances (T-12th, 9), and strikeouts (8th, 32).
• After being hit for the 18th time in her career,
Peyton Slater is now tied for sixth in MSU softball history in times hit by a pitch.
• MSU pitchers have proven to be capable of fooling opposing hitters as the staff leads the OVC with 30 batters struck out looking.
