Gabby Crawford Becomes Eighth Women's Basketball Eagle to Claim a Spot on the OVC All-Newcomer Team

Gabby Crawford secured a spot on the league's All-Newcomer Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Munford, Tenn. native becomes the eighth Eagle to earn a place on the OVC's All-Newcomer team since its inception during the 2005-06 season. She's also secured Morehead State a member of said team for the third-straight season, the second-longest streak in program history.

Crawford concluded the regular season as Morehead State's leading scorer in conference play, averaging 12.2 points per game, ranking 13th in the OVC in scoring in league-only play. She also represented the Eagle's leading rebounder, corralling 8.7 boards per contest to rank fourth in the conference in OVC play.
On the glass, she also ranked third in the conference in both offensive and defensive rebounds per game, averaging 2.7 boards per contest on the offensive glass while cleaning up to the tune of 6.0 rebounds per game on the defensive end. She's one of just two players in the conference to rank in the top-five in the league in both categories during OVC play.
On the season, Crawford recorded six double-doubles against OVC opponents while also posting 13 double-figure scoring games and seven double-digit rebounding games in conference contests. She also finished the season by scoring in double-figures in eight of the last nine games.
She also posted both her career-highs in points and rebounds in OVC play, scoring 19 points in both games versus Tennessee State (Feb. 11 and Feb. 25) while grabbing 18 rebounds against Tennessee Tech (Jan. 7).
Converting at 82.3 percent from the free throw line in OVC play, Crawford also finished the season amongst the best free throw shooters in the conference. Overall, she converted 65-of-79 attempts at the charity stripe during league play, being one of just six players to shoot 80 percent or better from the free throw line in OVC games.
Defensively, she rejected 29 shots while swiping 15 steals with her block total ranking fourth in the OVC in conference-only games. As with points and rebounds, Crawford also set her career-highs in blocks and steals in league play, recording seven blocks versus Southeast Missouri (Jan. 21) and three steals against Tennessee State and Belmont (Feb. 25 and Feb. 27).
She also ended the season ranked fourth in the OVC in minutes per game played in league games, averaging 33.2 minutes per contest.
