ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Facing its second tournament of the week, the first time for the program with two events in a single week since the open of the 2018-19 season, Morehead State men's golf concluded the three-day Sea Palms Invitational Saturday, finishing just shy of the team's fourth consecutive top-10 finish of the year.
The Eagles wrapped the Sea Palms Invitational placing 11th on the final team leaderboard, finishing just seven strokes shy of their fourth straight top-10 finish. Morehead State fashioned rounds of 292-308-304-904 with the team's opening-round 292 tied for its third-lowest team 18-hole total this season.
Fifth-year
Cooper Collins finished atop Morehead State's individual leaderboard for the second-consecutive event and third overall time this season, collecting his third top-30 individual finish of the year, tying for 29th. He carded totals of 69-75-79-223 as his opening-round 69 tied for the Eagles' third-lowest score relative to par and Collins' second-lowest single round of the year.
Redshirt senior
Ryan Gillum claimed the Eagles other top-50 finish, concluding the event tied for 44th on the leaderboard. He tied for fourth in the tournament field in Par-3 scoring, marking in rounds of 76-75-75-226.
After competing in five total rounds across two events this week, Morehead State returns in a week at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn. The two-day event tees off from the Sevierville Golf Club on March 14.

- Cooper Collins finished tied for seventh in the field in Par-5 scoring at four-under on Par-5s, averaging 4.67 strokes per Par-5.
- Sinking an eagle each, Gillum and Joe Muschong combined to sink two of the 18 eagles at the Sea Palms Invitational.
- Zac Viminitz tied for 17th in the field in total birdies, carding nine during the event. Like Viminitz with birdies, Collins tied for 17th in the field in total pars with 33.
