MOREHEAD, Ky. – After almost two periods of scoreless action in MSU Soccer's Tuesday afternoon match against Tennessee Tech, the visiting Golden Eagles were able to break the tie on their way to a 1-0 victory. TTU's Chloe Smith earned her first goal of the year in the 87
th minute off a touch pass from Bailey Taylor to propel the visitors to their second consecutive 1-0 win to begin the season.
After an even first forty-five, in which both clubs earned six shots apiece, Tennessee Tech's offense in the second period proved the difference as the Golden Eagles outpaced MSU in shots, four to two. TTU was also able to win the shots on goal battle, seven to six.

Michelle Jerantowski finished the match with a season-high six saves. Morehead State's eight total shots came from five players including freshman
Christa Palla's first career attempt.
Colleen Swift,
Eva Kiper, and
Kate Larbes led MSU with two shots on the day. This marks the second consecutive match that Larbes has finished with a team-high in shots after leading Morehead State with four in the previous contest against Eastern Illinois.
The Eagles continue their 2020 season on the road against Eastern Kentucky in what could be the final in-conference match between the two rivals. The contest is set for 3 pm ET on Friday, March 12, and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
