Soccer Bids Farewell to Five Senior Eagles As MSU Hosts Austin Peay for Final Home Match of the Season

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Morehead State Soccer says goodbye to five seniors on Friday as it completes its home schedule with a match against conference foe Austin Peay. The contest at Jayne Stadium is slated for 6 pm ET.
 
A Senior Day celebration before the match will pay tribute to five Soccer Eagles as Lauryn Kunz, Katie Quinn, Ashley Ritchie, and Tia Williams all bid adieu to MSU. They will be honored along with support staff member and former MSU goalkeeper Meghan Arnett.
 
"Even though this has been a tough spring season, we are her to celebrate our graduating seniors," said head coach Warren Lipka. "This is their day and we will try and give them an Eagle soccer family send off."
 
Morehead State is most recently coming off a 1-0 loss to Southeast Missouri on Monday while the Governors of APSU fell 2-0 to UT Martin on Tuesday. Thursday's match represents the final contest of the Spring 2021 Season for Austin Peay with MSU completing its season on Tuesday at Belmont.

NOTABLE
• The Eagles are currently tied for fourth in the OVC in both saves (43) and saves per game (5.38).
 
• Redshirt sophomore Colleen Swift leads MSU with 11 total shots. The forward has registered multiple shots in five of MSU's nine contests.
 
• Goalkeeper Michelle Jerantowski's current GAA of 1.13 this season would be the third-best in program history. The junior earned her first career shutout in MSU's win over UT Martin on March 16.
 
• Jerantowski sits in fifth place in the OVC with a 0.816 save percentage. She's also sixth in the conference in both saves (31) and saves per game (5.17).
 
• The Eagles are one of the most aggressive teams in the conference as they are currently tied for fourth in the OVC with 78 fouls while also being tied for fourth with four yellow cards.
 
• Junior defender Nicole Palmer was named to the 2020 OVC Soccer Preseason Player to Watch List for the second year in a row at the start of the year. This season, she has one goal and is currently tied for third on the team with nine shots (five on goal) while being a key piece of MSU's defensive front.
 
• Freshmen midfielders Christa and Sidney Palla come to Morehead State after standout careers at Kiski Area HS in Apollo, Pa. The sisters represent the fifth set of twins to wear an Eagle uniform in the 22-year history of the MSU soccer program. They have registered a combined four shots (one on goal) in 462 minutes of action.
 
• Morehead State collected a season-high eight shots on goal against Southeast Missouri on Monday. Sophomore midfielder Eva Kiper led the Eagles with three of the eight SOGs, a career-high for her. She also tied her career-high with four total shots in the match.
