Men's Golf Seeking Third-Consecutive Top-10 Finish in Third Appearance at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate

MOREHEAD, Ky. – After posting the team's best finish in four tries at the Missouri Tiger Invitational last week, Morehead State men's golf is set to make its third appearance at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio under head coach

With the annual Flyer Invitational moved to the Spring and rebranded as the Dayton Flyers Intercollegiate, 2020-21 marks the third time the Eagles have competed at the event, competing in 2015-16 and 2016-17. In two prior trips, Morehead State has claimed two top-10 finishes, finishing sixth in 2015-16 and eighth in 2016-17.
Senior
Joe Muschong led Morehead State last week at the Missouri Tiger Invitational, claiming the best finish of his career relative to par while tying his best overall finish (third) after finishing the event at nine-under-par. He fashioned rounds of 68-72-67-207 to tie for third, the best individual finish for an Eagle at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
As a team, Morehead State finished eighth, carding scores of 292-304-285-881 with the team's final round (285; -3) marking the team's third-lowest round of the season as three players carded sub-70 rounds.
The 2020-21 Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate features three total rounds and 54-holes over two days with 26 holes Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Play begins at NCR Country Club's North Course with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start Monday.

NOTABLE
- Tying for third at the Missouri Tiger Invitational, Muschong collected his best finish relative to par (nine-under) while tying his lowest finish (third) of his career. The finished joined his third-place finish at the 2021 Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate and is his third top-five of the season and sixth of his career.
- Finishing tied for the tournament lead in Par-3 Scoring and leading the tournament field in Par-4 scoring, propelled Muschong to a third-place finish. He also finished second in the field in birdies, carding 17.
- Carding three and two eagles, respectively, Ryan Gillum and Zac Viminitz ranked tied for first and tied for third in the Missouri Tiger Invitational field in total eagles.
- Viminitz also finished tied for eighth in the tournament field in Par-5 Scoring, finishing four-under on Par-5s.
