NOTABLE
- Meeting for the first time since the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship Game, Morehead State and Jacksonville State are slated for a three-game series in Jacksonville, Ala. Overall, the Gamecocks hold an edge in the series—35-19—that dates back to 1961 but has included meetings every year since 2004.
- Entering the weekend series with Jacksonville State, freshman first baseman Jackson Feltner ranks 14th in the NCAA and tops amongst all NCAA freshmen in batting average, hitting .413 on the season. Should he finish the season with a batting average above .400, he'd be the first Eagle since Eli Boggess (.425) in 2017 to finish with an average of .400 or better in a season.
- Feltner also sports Morehead State's longest active reached base and hitting streaks, reaching in 22 straight games while sporting a 13-game hitting streak. His hitting streak ranks as the second-longest active streak in the OVC with his reached base streak representing the third-longest streak in the conference.
- As the table-setter atop the batting order for Morehead State, redshirt junior second baseman Bryce Hensor ranks 11th in the country in both runs scored and runs scored per game, scoring 40 runs over 40 games to average 1.25 runs scored per game. On the season, he's scored at least one run in 24 games, including in 11 straight games from April 2 to April 18.
- Picking up seven wins out of the bullpen this season, redshirt senior left-hander Cory Conway is tied for second in the NCAA in wins, sitting a single win shy of leader Kumar Rocker of Vanderbilt. His seven wins also tie for the most relief wins in the country this season, tying with VCU's Tyler Davis.
- For his career, Conway owns 17 career victories, a total that ties for sixth all-time in program history. With 16 of his 17 wins in relief, he also owns the program record for career relief victories while he also ties for second in career relief appearances (69) and ranks eighth in total appearances (73).
- Conway's seven pitching victories ensure Morehead State has had a pitcher record seven or more wins in each of the program's full seasons since 2015 with four of the six full seasons featuring pitchers who won eight or more games.
- Speaking of appearances, redshirt junior southpaw John Bakke ranks sixth in the NCAA with an OVC-leading 19 appearances this season out of the pen. With one additional appearance, Bakke would give Morehead State at least one pitcher with 20 or more appearances for the 13th-consecutive full season.
- After recording saves in three consecutive games versus Austin Peay (DH on 4/9) and Eastern Illinois (4/16), Bakke upped his season save count to five, tying for the ninth most saves in a single-season and career in program history.
- In Bakke, Conway, and senior right-hander Jake Ziegelmeyer, Morehead State's roster features three pitchers ranked in the top-10 in program history in career saves. Ziegelmeyer leads the trio with 12 career saves (t-5th) while Conway adds eight (7th) and Bakke five (t-9th).
- Since the calendar flipped to April, Morehead State has turned 12 double plays in 12 April games, including a season-high seven double plays in its series with Eastern Illinois. Entering the Jacksonville State series, the Eagles rank third in the OVC in double plays turns with 23 total double plays.
- Morehead State also enters the weekend series ranked second in the OVC in scoring, averaging 6.8 runs per game. In 12 April games, Morehead State has scored 10 or more runs on six occasions, exceeding its scoring output—scoring seven or more runs—in nine games this month.
