Jarrett Mattingly Named OVC Track Athlete of the Week
MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a first-place finish in the 10,000 meter run at the Joey Haines Invitational, senior Jarrett Mattingly was named OVC Track Athlete of the Week. Mattingly has earned three winning performances in as many weeks with his latest victory setting the new 10,000-meter school record with a time of 30:16.05.

The previous mark of 30:29.59, held by Jesse Moreno, had stood since 2014 before Mattingly's run last weekend. Along with his most recent victory, Mattingly finished first in the 5000 meter run at the Adidas Trojan Challenge on March 27 with a time of 15:04.74 after his time of 8:33.56 placed him at the head of the pack in the 3000 meter race at the Blizzard Buster on March 20.

Mattingly and the rest of the Track & Field Eagles will be back in action on April 16-17 at the Rick Erdmann Twilight hosted by Eastern Kentucky.
