MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State track is on the road for the last leg of its 2021 season with an appearance in the OVC Track & Field Championship.

The three-day meet, hosted by Eastern Illinois, begins Thursday and will continue through Saturday at O'Brien Field. Fans can follow the action with the live stats link above or through ESPN+ where all track events will be streamed live at 6 pm ET on Thursday-Friday and 1:30 pm ET on Saturday.

Senior Jarrett Mattingly will lead the men's team this weekend after having previously been named OVC Track Athlete of the Week earlier in the season due to his record-breaking performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Joey Haines Invitational. The New Haven, Ky., native set the new MSU mark with a time of 30:16.05 to best the old 10,000-meter record of 30:29.59, held by Jesse Moreno since 2014.

Freshman Kilani Harvey looks to continue her astounding first year as an Eagle after setting a trio of school records throughout the 2021 campaign. She has the best times in MSU history in the 60-meter (7.69 seconds), 100-meter (12.04 seconds), and 200-meter events (24.67 seconds). Her three program-best times are tied with Amy Beatty for most held by an individual athlete in Morehead State history.

This weekend's championship will be the first for the Ohio Valley Conference in two years after last season's competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, Morehead State finished in eighth place on the men's side while earning an eleventh-place finish on the women's side.
