MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After a prolific year on the defensive side of the ball, Morehead State junior cornerback
Brandon Barbee has been named a Second-Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association.
The Orlando, Fla., native was an All-Pioneer League First-Team selection. He led the PFL and ranked among the top FCS players in interceptions with five in just seven games. Barbee appeared in all seven games for the Eagles, recording 24 total tackles (18 solo).
He also forced a fumble and scored a defensive touchdown on an interception against Valparaiso. He finished the Valparaiso game with three total tackles, two of which were solo, and two interceptions including one late in the game that effectively sealed the victory.
Morehead State finished the spring season 4-3, finishing second in the PFL, its highest finish since 2015.
