Jake Wolfe Chooses Morehead State to Further Men's Basketball Career
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Another student-athlete with high-level Division I championship experience has chosen Morehead State to further his athletic and academic career.

Jake Wolfe, who has played three seasons at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., has completed requirements to transfer to Morehead State. Wolfe will have two seasons of eligibility remaining starting in 2021-22.

Wolfe is a 6-5 guard from Aurora, Ill.

"We are excited to add Jake to our team. He brings a toughness and competitive nature that will fit our culture," said head coach Preston Spradlin. "His ability to guard multiple positions and stretch the floor with his shooting will enhance our roster."

A three-year player for the Bisons, Wolfe was a member of the 2018-19 team that advanced to the championship game of the NIT in New York City and won 29 games. He was a part of 60 wins in three seasons and played in two Atlantic Sun Conference championship games.

In 2021-21, Wolfe averaged 6.7 points while hitting 40 percent from the floor in 26 games while starting 21. He had back-to-back breakout performances against fellow Ohio Valley Conference team Southeast Missouri where he scored 22 and 26 points. He also had four other double-figure scoring games and made 75 percent of his free throws.

As a sophomore he was off to a solid start in eight games, averaging 5.1 points and 1.7 assists before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. He played in 35 games as a freshman, helping Lipscomb to a regular season ASUN title. He had season-bests of 16 points and seven rebounds in a win over Stetson.

Wolfe is a product of Aurora (Ill.) Christian School, where he was a two-time all-district and all-region pick playing for head coach Dan Beebee. He was named all-state in 2016-17 and twice helped his team win its region championship.

The son of Todd and Sherry Wolfe, he has five siblings.

Wolfe joins transfers Jaylon Hall (Wright State) and Tray Hollowell (Wofford) as D1 transfers. Junior college transfer Tucson Redding and incoming freshman Chris Cole will also be new additions.
