MOREHEAD, Ky. – Soccer continues its season this week on the road in a pair of first time matchups against two Michigan teams. Morehead State will first take on Central Michigan on Friday at 6:00 pm ET before moving on to face Eastern Michigan at 1:00 pm ET Sunday.
The Eagles are coming off a weekend that saw them generate plenty of offensive chances, a total of 17 shots, but struggle to find the back of the net, with their only goal coming off Colleen Swift's second penalty kick of the season.
Head coach Warren Lipka commented, "We're trying to get them to have that confidence and not to panic in goal scoring opportunities. You can't add pressure to pressure because it makes it worse, so we're just trying to go through repetition and breaking down the technique, and I think once it happens it's going to open some things up for us."
Junior goaltender Michelle Jerantowski continues to be a bright spot for the Eagles, after coming up with a season high five saves in a weather-shortened game against Marshall to help lead Morehead State to their 1-1 draw.
The Eagles are looking forward to taking on the challenge against two deceptively difficult teams in Central and Eastern Michigan.
"Central and Eastern are two very good teams out of the MAC conference and they've played very difficult schedules, so we don't even look at the record because I know that they're going to be good and well prepared."
