NOTABLE

- Graduate student Olivia Lohmeier became the program's rally scoring era (2001-) career kills leader last weekend at the Classic City Clash. Lohmeier upped her career terminations to 1,549, passing former OVC Player of the Year Ellie Roberson's 1,521.

- Lohmeier is now ranked seventh in kills for all eras at MSU. She needs 37 kills to move to sixth past Cherelle Lampkins' (2000-3) 1,585.

- Sophomore outside hitter Abby Hulsman was named to the Classic City Clash All-Tournament Team last weekend. She averaged 3.80 kills per set and hit a team-high .232.

- Junior libero Allison Whitten posted the first 30-dig match for the Eagles since 2014 last weekend. Whitten's impressive defending against Winthrop resulted in 31 scoops, which was the first 30-dig match for an Eagle since Hope Rillema's 31 versus Tennessee State on Sept. 26, 2014. It was also only the 27th individual 30-dig match in the history of the program (first one occurring in 1989).

- MSU totaled 19 blocks on opening weekend, or 1.90 per set. That figure ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference.

- The Eagles were the odds-on favorite to win the OVC this year in the preseason poll. In addition Lohmeier, Hulsman and setter Bridget Bessler were tabbed preseason all-conference.

- Lohmeier is one of two OVC nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

- The 2020-21 academic year marks the 23rd overall season culminating in an AVCA Team Academic Award for volleyball since the honor's inception during the 1992-93 academic year while also marking the program's 13th consecutive Team Academic Award with the streak dating back to 2008-09.

- Ninety (90) digs by MSU against Winthrop last weekend was the most since digging 98 attempts versus, ironically, Winthrop in the 2019 season opener.

- Bessler's 42 assists and 15 digs versus Winthrop marked her first double-double of the year and 17th of her three-year career.
