MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Following his third consecutive top-20 finish to open the 2021-22 season, Morehead State's Joe Muschong has been awarded Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week.

The honor marks Muschong's first-ever weekly accolade in his five-year Eagle career.

Muschong finished 16th in a field of 81 golfers at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Ball State last weekend. He fired round of 71-74-68 to finish with a 213. With his final round 68, Muschong moved up 17 spots on the leaderboard from the second round.

Muschong ranks tied for third in the OVC in stroke average at 70.3 but is first among players who have taken part in more than one event.

The Eagles return to the course at the J.T. Poston Invitational in Noth Carolina on Sept. 27-28.
