Rifle Opens 2021-22 Season with Pair of Home Matches
SCHEDULE | ROSTER

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The first two of 13 total dates and six home matches for Morehead State rifle takes place this weekend when the Eagles host Georgia Southern on Friday and Saturday. Both matches commence at 8 a.m. ET in the ranges in Button Auditorium.

Head coach Alan Joseph returns nine shooters, along with one newcomer, as the Eagles look to open the season on a high note. Morehead State has finished in the top 25 in the nation in every year of Joseph's tenure at MSU and has climbed into the top 10 as well.

The roster is spearheaded by a trio of seniors in Erin Diehl, Amber Schifano and Katie Frye. Diehl, who set four school records last season, was a First-Team All-OVC selection in Air Rifle and Smallbore. Schifano earned First-Team All-OVC in Air Rifle, while Frye was a second-team honoree on the air gun.

The junior class consists of Cailey Dahlquist, Elizabeth Plecity, Bryce Ward and Grace Weber. Weber was a First-Team all-conference Air Rifle shooter, while Ward took second-team Smallbore accolades home. Plecity was named the 2019-20 OVC Freshman of the Year.

The two sophomores are Andrew Morris and Sally Reeke. Morris was an All-Newcomer selection for the league in Air Rifle.

Those nine are joined by freshman Danielle Vigil, who was on a state champion Air Rifle squad prior to joining the Eagles for this season.
