MSU vs. MSU: Volleyball Hosts OVC Rival Murray State This Weekend

MOREHEAD Ky. -- Morehead State volleyball returns to its home court in Johnson Arena this weekend when OVC rival Murray State visits. Friday's action commences at 6 p.m. ET with Saturday being a mid-morning tilt at 11 a.m.
The Eagles will look to even the ship in the conference race after dropping a couple of see-saw battles at Austin Peay last weekend.
Both matches will be live on ESPN+ with Dean Hardin calling the plays.

NOTABLE
- Morehead State leads the all-time series with Murray State 47-31, but the results have been back and forth recently. After dropping four straight the Racers from 2017-19, the Eagles took a pair of straight-set wins in the spring season. Morehead State has a 29-8 record against Murray State in matches played in Morehead.
- Graduate student
Olivia Lohmeier again was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts at Austin Peay. Lohmeier has now won 13 OVC weekly awards in her career, which is a program record.
- With 1,729 career kills, Lohmeier has moved to third place in career spikes within the program history. She needs only 43 more to move to second place past Dayle Hamontree (1987-90). She is ninth place in OVC in career kills but can move into the top five with just 45 more. Lohmeier is currently ranked 21st nationally in Division I in kills per set (4.49). She is 16th nationally in total kills and 23rd in total attacks.
- Sophmore setter
Bridget Bessler returned the lineup last weekend and promptly recorded two double-doubles at Austin Peay. Bessler now has 20 assist-dig double-doubles in her career.
- Junior
Allison Whitten has moved into eighth place in program history in career digs with 1,466. Whitten ranks fourth in the OVC with 4.49 digs per set. Her 31 digs against Winthrop earlier this season was the first 30-dig match for an Eagle since 2014.

McKenzee Wagener's 42 total blocks this year ranks as the fourth best total in the OVC.

Abby Hulsman (489) have combined to take 60 percent of the total swings in Morehead State's offense this season. The Eagles have attacked 1,811 times in their 13 matches. In fact the Eagles rank 38th nationally in team attacks per set.
