MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- After a lengthy winter layoff, Morehead State Rifle returned to action Saturday with a tri-match at West Virginia along with Akron.

The Eagles finished with a 4642 total, including 2352 in air rifle.

Seniors Amber Schifano and Erin Diehl both shot 589 in Air Rifle to lead the scores. Right behind was junior Bryce Ward and Grace Weber with 588s and senior Katie Frye with a 587. Junior Elizabeth Plecity fired a 583.

On the Smallbore range, Ward and Plecity shot top honors for the Eagles, both with 578. DiehL was next with a 571.

Up next for the Eagles is the Ohio Valley Conference Championships. This year it's a one-day event on Feb. 5 at Murray State.
