Eagles Look to Bounce Back in Battle of the Birds at Tennessee Tech

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Heading into their first road trip of conference play, Morehead State women's basketball takes on the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech Thursday.

Morehead State is coming off of a shorthanded week that saw them drop their opening two OVC contests. The Eagles have been led offensively by sophomore Jada Claude, who has averaged 13.5 points per game in conference play.

Tennessee Tech has opened OVC play with back-to-back nail biters, falling in overtime at Tennessee State, 96-93, before toppling Murray State, 65-62. The Golden Eagles are led by graduate student Mackenzie Coleman, who averages 12.2 points per game and has recorded 15 blocks on the season.

• Through two conference games, Morehead State is 3rd in the OVC in field goal percentage defense (.402) and defensive rebounds per game (27.0).

• Tyler Moore is tied for the most three pointers made in conference play so far this season, connecting on six long range shots through two games.

• Morehead State is averaging 33.1 rebounds per game. Jada Claude leads the team with 6.8 per game, ranking 6th in the OVC standings.

• One of Morehead State's most notable individual performances against Tennessee Tech came in 2006 from LaKrisha Brown, who pulled down 26 rebounds against the Golden Eagles, the 2nd most in a game in school history.

• Morehead State pulled down 46 rebounds last game against Tennessee State. This was the most rebounds the Eagles have recorded against a D1 team this season and is the highest number of rebounds in a game for the program since Dec. 11, 2020.
