MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State volleyball will get a plethora of Homecoming week athletic events started as the Eagles host Eastern Illinois on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET and Friday at 6 p.m.
MSU has won eight of the last 10 overall in the series, and EIU's last win in Morehead was in 2011. But the upstart Panthers are in second place in the league this year at 7-2. The Eagles are very much still in the hunt for an OVC title, at 5-4.

- Senior setter Bridget
Bessler is all alone in third place in career assists at Morehead State with 3,673. Bessler leads the conference in assists per set at 9.75. She also leads in total assists with 692. She has ranked in the top two in the OVC in assists all four seasons she has played and is looking to become just the third player in program history to earn four straight awards for First-Team All-Conference.
- Bessler enters the week with five straight assist-dig double-doubles. She established a career high with 21 digs two weekends ago versus Tennessee State at home. She also has at least one block in six straight matches.
- If the stats hold up, these matches should prove to be very offensive heavy. Eastern Illinois and Morehead State rank 2 and 3 in the league in kills and assists.
- Dating back to the 2021 spring season (moved for COVID), Morehead State has won 20 of the last 21 home OVC matches, and the Eagles are on a streak of 14 consecutive home OVC matches won.
