Football Falls on the Road at Butler; Cravens Scores Pair of TDs

FINAL STATS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --
Morehead State football had a tough day on the road at PFL for Butler Saturday at the Sellick Bowl. The Bulldogs scored early and often as the Eagles fell 56-20.

MSU slipped to 2-6 and 1-4 in the PFL. Butler moved to 6-2 and 4-1.

After an early 21-yard rushing TD by Butler, the Eagles answered on a fourth down play from the Bulldogs 44-yard line. Quarterback Grady Cramer connected with wideout Kenny Lewis, Jr., on a 44-yard scoring strike. Cramer has thrown at least one TD in six straight games.

But, Butler's ground game ramped up as the Bulldogs scored four rushing TDs before halftime and added a 43-yard scoring pass as well to lead 42-7 at the break.

The Eagles saw some bright lights to begin the second half as quarterback Carter Cravens finished off a 10-play, 75-yard drive with a four yard touchdown, his first career TD. He later also scored his second career rushing TD on a two-yard scramble with 1:13 left in the game to cap an eight-play, 75-yard drive.

Cramer finished 14-of-24 passing for 142 yards. Cravens was 10-of-17 for a career-high 132 yards.

Defensively, Cooper Krezek led the tackle department again with eight. The Eagles generated 323 yards but allowed 487 to the home team.

The Eagles return home on Saturday to host PFL foe Marist at 1 p.m. ET.
