MOREHEAD, Ky. --The Morehead State volleyball team defeated the Tennessee State Tigers 3-1 (25-13, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15) Thursday at home at Johnson Arena behind a career-high 21 digs from setter Bridget Bessler and four players in double-digit kills.
The conference victory improved Morehead State's record to 7-9 overall and 3-2 in OVC action. Morehead State has now won 10 straight matches against TSU and upped its all-time record at home over TSU to 35-3.

» Morehead State had four players in double figures in digs. also with 16 from Peighton Isley, 12 from Shea Hefner and 11 from Abby Hulsman.
» Abby Hulsman registered a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs.
» Bessler completed the double-double with a match-high 52 assists, one shy of her season high.
» M.E. Hargan and Maycie Welborn each landed 13 kills apiece.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Eagles won the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-13. Morehead State opened up its biggest lead, 12 points, to close out the set, collecting 18 kills along the way.
SET 2 | After the win in the first set, Morehead State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-20 victory in set number two. The Eagles scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Morehead State opened up as much as a seven point lead at 23-16 before finishing off the set, totaling 16 kills in the set.
SET 3 | Morehead State saw its chance for a sweep end when Tennessee State took set three. The Eagles fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 26-24 in a set that featured three lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team had a lead of more than three points along the way.
SET 4 | Morehead State then responded to claim the match win with a 25-15 set-four victory. The Eagles scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Morehead State opened up as much as an 11 point lead at 22-11 before finishing off the stanza, collecting 15 kills in the process.
