MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Running back
James Louis busted out for a career-high 195 rushing yards, including touchdown jaunts of 72 and 67Â yards, as the Morehead State Football team fell 49-27 at Dayton Saturday on a snowy field at Welcome Stadium.
The Eagles fell to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the PFL. Dayton remained in the hunt for the league title at 8-2 and 6-1. MSU trailed only 21-17 at the half, but saw Dayton outscore it 21-7 in the fourth period to pull away.
Louis carried the pigskin just 16 times and averaged 12.2 yards per carry. He scored on a 72-yard scamper with 10:46 left in the first quarter and got free for a 67-yard TD at the 10:39 mark of the second quarter.

Nathan Hazlett connected on field goals of 44 and 27 yards, and quarterback
Carter Cravens tossed a 72-yard TD to wideout
Kenny Lewis, Jr. for the final MSU score with 7:05 left in the game.
Dayton back Jake Chisolm ran for two touchdowns (in the first and third quarters) and rushed for 205 yards.
The Eagles did generate 404 total yards, including a career-high 156 yards by Cravens. Lewis led the receiving corps with 85 yards, while
Kyle Daly hauled in a team-best four catches for 62 yards.
Defensively, the Eagles allowed 517 yards. For the sixth straight game,
Cooper Krezek led the team in tackles. He had 11, supported by
Sese Aumavae and
Keenan Wolf with 10 each.
Morehead State closes it 2022 season Saturday as San Diego visits. Game time is 12 p.m. ET at Jayne Stadium.
