MOREHEAD, Ky. – Eddie Ricks III, a 6-7 forward from Clarksville, Tenn., has inked his National Letter of Intent to join the Morehead State men's basketball program. Ricks III, the No. 3 ranked senior in the state of Tennessee according to Prep Hoops, is part of a recruiting group rated among the very best classes in MSU's recent history.

Ricks III is a current standout at Clarksville Academy where he was a Tennessee Mr. Basketball finalist in 2021-22, averaging 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while leading his group to the state final four.

"Eddie is a huge addition to this class. He has the length and skill to impact games on both sides of the ball and will be a mismatch problem for teams in the OVC," said head coach Preston Spradlin. "We were sold on Eddie when we saw his ability to elevate those around him with his IQ, feel for the game and competitiveness."

The son of Eddie Ricks, Jr., and Jennifer McDonnell, Ricks III was named First-Team All-State, all-county, all-region and all-area as a junior. He was also the District Most Valuable Player.

As a sophomore, he earned all-area, all-district and all-county honors while posting 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per outing. He also was tabbed all-district and all-region as a freshman.

Ricks III has already eclipsed 1,000 career points in his prep career and has topped out at 40 points in a single game.

He is also a member of the EAB (Elite Amateur Basketball) AAU program, which participates in the 3SSB Adidas Circuit.
