MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Eagles couldn't withstand an incredible shooting performance from Murray State, as Morehead State fell to their Commonwealth rival Saturday, 72-58.
Morehead State struggled to keep up with Murray State's barrage in the first half that saw the Racers connect on 68 percent of their shots, missing only three shots inside the arc for the entire half. The Eagles outscored Murray State 40-27 in the second half, but couldn't overcome their 27 point halftime deficit.
Julan McDonald recorded her fourth double-figure scoring performance in a row to lead the Eagles in scoring, pouring in 16 points and eight rebounds.
Jada Claude put up 14 points to go with three rebounds and three assists, and
Freddy Adams rounded out the double figure scoring for the Eagles with 11 points thanks to a trio of three point baskets.Â
Next up, the Eagles take to the road as they travel to the Volunteer state to take on UT Martin on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
