MOREHEAD, Ky. – Hitting the course for the first time this spring, Morehead State women's golf will participate in the Mid-American Challenge hosted by Bowling Green.

"We always look forward to this event and we've had success at it in the past. What's nice is that all of the teams competing are in the same boat; they're from states where they likely haven't had the chance to get onto the course throughout January," head coach Stephanie Barker said.

The last time the Eagles competed at the Mid-American Challenge, Morehead State claimed a top-10 finish, after posting scores of 305-305-285—892. Their final round was the program's lowest 18-hole team total in program history, and was only the fourth sub-290 team round in their 14-year history.

The Eagles will employ a lineup of MacKenzie Neal, Olivia Hensley, Bridget Connolly, Hailey Rietz, and Hanna Montgomery.

The tournament will be competed in a match play style, with Morehead State teeing off against Ohio University in the opening round. Other matches for the Eagles throughout the tournament will be determined by a bracket format. Bridget Connolly currently owns eight match play pairing victories, which is the most in program history.

"We're excited to be in a state with great weather and a match play format which gives a lot of freedom as a starting event," Barker added.

The two-day event tees off Monday from Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club before concluding Tuesday.
