MOREHEAD, Ky. – Weather and mid-week games in Morehead this spring have been a bad combination for the Morehead State softball program.

Because of an ominous forecast, tomorrow's scheduled home doubleheader with Dayton (8-13) has been postponed until an undetermined date.

"Wednesday's softball doubleheader versus Dayton has been cancelled due to the incoming storms," Morehead State Athletic Tickets and Facility Manager Paul Rhodes said. "We are working on finding a later date to reschedule these games."

The contests become the seventh and eighth washed out for the Blue and Gold this season. Three of those were doubleheaders scheduled to be played at MSU's University Field. The only other games erased due to weather were the first two matches at East Carolina's Purple-Gold Invitational which were scheduled for Mar. 12.

Morehead State (1-18) has only played once at home so far this season, last Wednesday's single game against eastern Kentucky. The Eagles won it 3-1.

In addition to the Mar. 12 contests with East Carolina and Bryant, MSU also scrapped home meetings with Shawnee State (Feb. 22) and Butler (Mar. 8). Both the Butler and Dayton doubleheaders are expected to be rescheduled for a date to be determined later this season. The Eagles already had a second home doubleheader with Shawnee State penciled in, so the February matches will not be made up.

Morehead State will host Austin Peay for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series this weekend. Saturday will feature a twin bill, with the first contest slated for 1 p.m. First pitch for the third game will be 1 p.m. on Sunday.
