MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Miles Fishback and Brentton Ervin have joined the Morehead State football coaching staff, rounding out the staff for the 2022 season. Fishback will lead the running backs as well as serve as co-special teams coordinator. Ervin will coach the defensive ends.

Fishback, a native of Chico, Calif., most recently served as an offensive graduate assistant coach at Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. He helped the Bears to an 8-4 record and a 6-2 mark in the always tough MVFC while earning a berth in the FCS championships.

Fishback coached the wide receivers, where he helped mentor Tyron Scott - the first 1,000 receiver in that program's history. Four offensive players were selected All-MVFC. Fishback also coached the special teams scout team as well as the defensive scout team.

He served as offensive quality control coach in the spring 2021 season as well as serving as video coordinator at Missouri State.

Prior to Missouri State, Fishback was the wide receivers coach at Butte (Calif.) Junior College during the fall of 2020.

Fishback served as running backs coach at his alma mater, Adams State (Colo.) from December 2018-2020. In the 2019 season, the ASU running backs combined for 1,435 yards ad seven touchdowns.

Fishback was a two-time all-conference receiver at Chico (Calif.) High School before also playing for Butte and Adams State. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in kinesiology from Adams State.

Ervin, who was a standout linebacker and defensive end for both Kentucky State and Eastern Kentucky, most recently served as a quality control coach at EKU.

In 2021, he helped the Colonels to three wins over preseason top 25 teams as well as ranking in the top five nationally in defensive touchdowns.

Ervin was a linebacker for the Colonels from 2016-19.  As a senior, he started four times and played in all 12 games.  The Louisville native totaled 30 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for losses.

He was a standout at Louisville's Trinity High School.

Ervin has volunteered or worked civically with a plethora of respected organizations as well, serving meals to the homeless and developing young men.

He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from EKU in 2019.
