MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State baseball team has been in a bit of a slump as of late, dropping six of their last seven games and their last five OVC contests. The Eagles (16-23, 5-7 OVC) are looking to reverse their fortunes this weekend, as the Skyhawks from UT Martin come to Allen Field for a three-game set.
 
Due to scheduling conflicts with the OVC Beach Volleyball Tournament in Morehead this weekend, none of the games will be broadcasted on ESPN+, but live stats will be available. As it stands, the series will now run Thursday and Friday with a single game Friday at 4 p.m. ET and a doubleheader first pitch at 1 p.m. Friday. Check @MSUEagles on twitter for updates.

-As a team, Morehead State leads the OVC in sacrifice hits on the season with 26. Small ball has been a tactic commonly used by the Eagles this season, and it has often led to runs for Morehead State.
-Alex Jacobs holds the OVC's longest on-base streak in 2022, currently sitting at 37 games. Jacobs has a hit in 29 of his last 30 games and is one of five Eagles batting over .300 on the season.
-Jackson Feltner has lived up to all the preseason hype in 2022. Feltner leads the Eagles in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.377), total bases (102), RBI (34), and OPS (1.111). He is also tied for the team lead in home runs with Ryley Preece, both with 10.
-Grant Herron has found a role as the game three starter in Morehead State's rotation. Herron leads MSU's starters with a 4.24 ERA on the season.
-Ryley Preece still leads the OVC in walks on the season with 33. Preece leads Morehead State in runs scored in 2022, crossing the plate 38 times.
-Roman Kuntz returned the lineup this past weekend vs. SEMO. On Tuesday at EKU, Kuntz drove in a run with an RBI single to left field and is batting .309 on the season.
-UT Martin currently sits in last place in the OVC and are only hitting .249 in 2022. However, the Skyhawks did take two of three from Tennessee Tech this past weekend.
