MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State softball's Wednesday doubleheader with Kentucky State has been postponed. It is the ninth and 10th time this season, the Eagles have had a game rescheduled or canceled.

MSU has only played six of its 27 total contests at home. Including the Kentucky State twin bill, an additional three home doubleheaders have either been postponed or canceled. To date, of the five mid-week non-conference games on the team's initial schedule only one has been played – a Mar. 16 single contest with eastern Kentucky.

Morehead State (2-25) is 2-4 at home this season, with its lone two wins coming at University Field – 3-1 against eKU and 9-1 against Austin Peay on Mar. 27.

"Based on the forecast this week we are canceling our softball doubleheader with Kentucky State," said Morehead State Athletic Tickets and Facility Manager Paul Rhodes. "We are hoping we can make it up later in the season, but no date is currently set."

The Eagles have rescheduled the washed-out March 8 doubleheader with Butler. It will now be played on Wednesday, May 4. MSU is also expecting to add a home date with a yet-to-be-announced opponent later this month.

Wednesday's contests were supposed to be the start of a 10-game home stand. Now, the Eagles' next outing will be this weekend against Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee-Martin. Due to weather and field conditions, the schedule for the three-game series is tentatively set for noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday, but according to Rhodes is expected to change.

Saturday's games against UT Martin are slated to be televised by ESPN+.
